A chance this week to catch up with a new face at Stag Meadow! We welcome Emile Hohmann who has joined us from Belstone.
What’s your best position Emile and what do you consider the best part of your game?
“I’d definitely say striker is my best position, that’s where I’ve always played. I’d back myself in the 10 as well. My hold up play and ability to play one touch are my greatest strengths, helping bring my teammates into the game further up the pitch. I want to become even more clinical in front of goal this season, that’s what I’m working on.”
You joined from Belstone, but where else have you played?
“When I was younger, I played in the East Junior Alliance for Hullbridge, and for Wingate & Finchley. In men’s football I’ve played for Hinton FC (Step 7) and Belstone FC last season.”
Any one player stand out for you that you’ve played with?
“The best player I’ve played with has to be my friend Mason Tunbridge, he’s playing 3rd division in the MLS for Tomenta FC now. Unreal midfielder with one of the best left foot’ I’ve seen!”
Have you set yourself any targets for the season?
“I’m going to aim for 15 goals minimum this season. I managed 24 last season, for Belstone, but obviously I am stepping up a level and I need to prove myself in a WEFC shirt”
In your short time at Stag Meadow, who would you have as the first name on your teamsheet?
“As a striker myself I would say Pawel. He’s so composed and such a lethal finisher in front of goal”
Which pro-club do you support and who’s the best player you’ve seen play for them?
“I’m from North London so I support Arsenal! I was a little too young to see (Thierry) Henry play live, (Alexis) Sanchez on his day is probably the best player I’ve seen.”
Any footballing superstitions?
“I’ve bought the same make of Adidas boots since I was 15, I’m running out of options in my size on Ebay now!”
If you could play a pro sport (other than football)?
“I’d have to say tennis”
