The club would like to clarify a number of inaccuracies that have been circulating on various social media channels.
Some of you may have seen the news that a car park barrier is going to be erected at Stag Meadow.
The Stag Meadow Car Park is privately owned and maintained by The Crown Estate, however there is an agreement in place that the Football Club may manage the car park on matchdays to restrict vehicles entering the car park to those whose occupants are attending the match. This agreement is in accordance with WEFC’s lease provisions.
A new barrier will be in operation on men’s matchdays only from 1pm until the end of the game on a Saturday and from 6.30pm until the end of the game on a Tuesday.
On matchdays, and at the times that the car park is reserved for the Football Club, WEFC stewards will be present in this Car Park and on the St Leonards access road to help manage access and parking. Please refer to the new fixtures board or here on the WEFC website for upcoming men’s matches
The restrictions are limited to match fixtures on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons only, and the Stag Meadow Car Park will remain open to all users outside these restricted time periods. Those people walking their dogs to the park or using bicycles will still be able to access the Great Park at all times. Under no circumstances would we ever block access to the Great Park.
Alternative free parking for dog walkers is available in the Crown Estate’s other car parks situated on the other side of the park.
