Where have you played previously and have you always been a footballer, or do you play other sports?
“I started playing in 2008 at Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC and slowly went through the teams and ended up at Maidenhead United Ladies Reserves. Sadly, the team came to an end. It was a great team, going unbeaten in 3 years and winning the treble 2 years on the bounce! I’ve also had a go at boxing as it’s always been a sport I’ve been interested in, but it’s football all the way!”
What’s your best position and or where would you prefer to play?
“Right wing back. Always there to defend and win the ball back, but always looking to push forward and get a few decent balls in the box now and again. Ss long as I’m the pitch helping my team I’m not fussed where I play to be honest.”
How would you describe your playing style?
“In the Womens team we have all been given nicknames by Laura P. I’m “Miss Motivation”. The loudest one on the pitch (the whole team can agree on that..lol). I love to create space on the right to get the ball moving. I also enjoy a good old tackle! Simple football is the best football and the results show for themselves so far this season.”
What’s your ambition?
“With Windsor & Eton FC it is to grow the women’s game. Being born and raised in Windsor I have always wanted there to be a women’s team. Once the Maidenhead team folded my football journey ended. As soon as Lyndsey (coach) told me there was going to be a Windsor women’s team I didn’t think twice, I was on it!”
Who’s the best player you’ve played with in a team?
“That has to be my old centre back at Maidenhead, Kajal. Nothing ever got passed her, the way she read the game from the back and won 1v1s it was always a calm game at the back when Kajal was there.”
Any player you’d hate to play against every week?
“Not necessarily. Every week is the same focus, be strong and win every ball. If I had to pick someone it would be my captain Stevie (Romney). She’s like a wizard, you blink and she’s there, a player anyone would want on their team.”
Best piece of footballing advice you’ve ever been given?
“Get through it! Every challenge, every game, every single minute of the game. Get through it and leave it all out there on the pitch.”
What do you consider your biggest asset?
“The team and the coaches would agree my corner kicks and free kicks are mustard!! The proof is in the pudding; 2 goals this season. One straight from a corner and one a free kick.”
What do you do outside of WEFC?
“I work full time in a bakery called Wenzels. Apart from working, I enjoy spending time chilling at home, or you’ll find me in the pub, self-care is the best care and all that!”
