Hope everyone has recovered from Tuesday’s home win against Burnham and has the same energy for today’s game!
Honestly, the crowd were fantastic and gave us a real boost after a tricky first half against the wind.
It was a brilliant performance all round. In the second half, we controlled the game well and dealt with everything Burnham had to throw at us. The team spirit was especially pleasing, not just from the boys on the pitch but the full squad of 25+ players that we have.
Take nothing away from Burnham though, who are a brilliant, balanced footballing side. At times, they put us under a lot of pressure and had unbelievable quality and tenacity. I thought Jamal Sharpe, who they brought in from Met Police for the game, looked really lively and was difficult to deal with, especially when we had spent a lengthy time preparing to face their top scorer, Shyon Dennis.
Today’s opponents Broadfields, we’ve drawn with them twice this season, so I expect it to be a very close and exciting game.
We will do everything we can to bring home the victory in the hope that we can spray water on the ceiling one more time for Malc to clean up after us.
Let’s hope for a record-breaking crowd. Enjoy the game.
