We are treated to another Saturday game at home this week to face Amersham. The reverse fixture earlier this year saw a 0-0 draw, which quite frankly should have been called off after 45 mins due to the weather.
Disappointingly, another game being called off in the week against BA, which was highly preventable, means that we will likely be playing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday at some point this season. Fair play to Coops behind the scenes doing everything he could to offer the opposition help to get the game on with alternative location options.
Last week, we had a pleasing win on penalties midweek away at Kidlington where we saw Luke Phillips, Toby, Enzo & Apples finish their penalties superbly well. It was also great to see Juwon get off the mark.
Saturday against Kidlington in the league was a very good performance from us all, be it potentially costly from an injury perspective. We controlled the game well in the first half and simply took the chances we had well. Bradders has done a brilliant job at Kidlington, they just don’t stop working hard for him and the team, and they’re very hard to beat. However, on the day it was great to see us play so well as a unit and the tactical instruction to players transferred so well onto the pitch.
Juwon, Bruno and Morri have all settled into the group extremely well and I’m sure you’ll agree their recent performances have been very impactful.
With those arrivals, unfortunately, we have lost Jabir. Jabir has been a brilliant part of the team, he’s been an extremely dedicated individual he has helped create some fond memories this season with his brilliant goal contributions. It was a pleasure having him in the team and we wish him all the best for whatever the future holds.
Hopefully, we can maintain the rhythm we’re starting to build into our game again despite the disruptive fixtures placed on Friday and Wednesday again in the coming weeks. Let’s hope today is as good as last weekend.
