It’s been a busy time for our Women’s Team Manager Cathy Corr, but Cathy found some time to chat about the new season (our first season)!
When does the season start, and when do you expect to see a fixture list?
“The season will kick off in early September, either on the 1st or the 8th, and we are thrilled about the upcoming fixtures. I’m excited to share that we expect to receive the fixture list before the Bank Holiday weekend…and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. It’s going to be an exciting season; Adam and I are really looking forward to it.”
How has recruiting gone, and how is pre-season so far?
“Recruitment has been fantastic! We have a signed on some strong players and the team is bonding beautifully. We’ve already played a few friendlies, and the camaraderie and enthusiasm among the players are truly inspiring. We have an incredible group of girls who are ready to give their all, and we’re eagerly anticipating our first official games. The energy and dedication are palpable, and it’s great to see.”
Has the job been tougher than you expected so far?
“The job has been incredibly rewarding! Having an outstanding team around us has made everything so much smoother. Clear communication and a shared vision among the management team are key, and we are all aligned and motivated. This synergy ensures that the players feel supported and empowered to grow week by week. Both Adam and I are immensely grateful and proud of the dedication and hard work from our management team. Together, we are creating something special.”
Have you set yourself a target for the season, and what are your expectations?
“Our primary goal is to win games and make our mark this season. While we recognise that the first season comes with its challenges, the solid foundations, and strong relationships we are building now will undoubtedly be our greatest strengths. We are all incredibly excited to get started and look forward to a highly successful and memorable first season. The future looks bright, and we are ready to shine.”
