Throughout the season we’ll be getting to know members of our U18 squad. We start with midfielder Harvey Lindsay.
What position do you play and if you could choose, what position would you play?
“I prefer to play in the middle. Anywhere from a 10,8,6. I think I probably play my best as an 8 as I like to get up and down and support the team as much as possible.”
Best asset as a footballer and what would you like to be better at?
“I don’t give up and always give 110%! My vision is my best attribute as I love to play a good through ball. I would say I’d like to be better at quicker decision making. Whether that’s having a shot or playing a through ball etc. but I think this will come as the season goes on and I’ll improve.”
What’s your Pre-match food choice?
“Pesto pasta all the way.”
Biggest influence on you as a footballer?
“Definitely my dad as he’s always pushed me and is the reason I love football. But if we’re talking proper football players, the obvious one would be someone like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Having said that, prime Gareth Bale was a player that I thought was criminally underrated and I always looked up too.”
Your favourite footballer in Premier League times?
“I would love to say someone like Thierry Henry or Paul Scholes but I think it’s unfair for me to say that as I wasn’t actually able to watch these lot play! But for me I think in the last few seasons Kevin de Bruyne has been that player. He can always change the game in a blink. More of a throwback, and if you know you know, Moussa Dembele for Spurs. That guy made playing football look very easy.”
Best football shirt you’ve seen in the last 2 years?
I mean there’s only one answer for me as a (Glasgow) Rangers supporter and that’s the new third kit for this season.”
Nike, Adidas or A N Other boot?
“I’m currently wearing the Nike phantom gx2. However, if I could’ve got my hands on them the new Predators with the tongue are class.”
Who wins the Premier League 2024/25?
“I would love to see someone else win it but I don’t want to sound stupid! City is the safe bet. But would love to see a team like Arsenal, Chelsea or United get up there.”
