Player Interview: Jatinder Liddar

27 August 2024,

Our thanks this week goes to Jatinder Liddar who very kindly offered up his time to answer some questions for us!

How did you feel last season went for you personally? Enjoy the season?

“Last season was a good season overall for the team as we got promoted. The aim was to win the league of course but sometimes you can’t always have everything! Personally, for myself it wasn’t my best season – so this summer I have been trying to rectify it!”

Did your pre-season go as planned?

“My pre-season went very well I thought. I was playing with a smile and when I’m doing that, the best of my footballing ability shows. The hard work I put in over the summer really paid off. I hope the fans also were able to see this.

I’ve started well, but there is always plenty to improve on. I know my ability, the level I must be at, I’m still not there yet, but I’m always working on myself to be the best I can be. I’ve set myself a goal of how many appearances and goals I want this year – so I am very focused on this.”

You missed a game recently, a long-term injury or just a few days rest?

“I picked up a knock against Chalfont in the opening 5 minutes of the game and since then I have been recovering from that. It’s going well at the minute… I will be back very soon to cause Matty a headache!”

Have you played in your preferred position yet this season?

“My preferred position is a supporting striker (not a 10!), as I love to run in behind teams from deep and play off the 9. The management team have deployed me where they feel they need me, and I will always respect it and do the job no questions asked.”
