Ollie Graham has been with us for a few months now, so time for us to get to know him a little better! Our thanks to Ollie for his time this week.
We’ve seen your name locally Ollie, but where have you played previously?
“I used to play at Bracknell Town and Ascot as a youth, I played at JMA (football college in Reading) for 3 years before making my senior debut, and then moved to Stag Meadow.”
And your best position?
“Either wing really. I used to play in midfield as a kid, but I think I’d be last choice option there now!”
How would you describe your playing style?
“Quick, technical and one footed that scores a very occasional goal but gets a few assists!”
Your football ambition?
“Win the league this year and then just keep enjoying playing football.”
Who is the best player you’ve played alongside?
“Tough one really, at College I played with some great players who play in America and non-league. Pav (Kowalkowski) is another unreal player I’ve played with, and a lot of the boys on the team right now are a real pleasure to play alongside.”
Any player you’d hate to play against?
“Ethan (Kitching) at right back would be a tough gig. Powerful and energetic – it wouldn’t be an easy game against him.”
What’s the best piece of footballing advice you’ve been given?
“My old man has always told me to enjoy playing football. So wherever I go I make sure my number 1 priority is to enjoy it.”
Your biggest asset?
“Probably my technical attributes (Dribbling & first touch) and my ability to be a team player.”
Something you’d like to be better at?
“My Physical attributes could improve, but they have their benefits as well being a winger!”
Best goal you’ve scored?
“We went to Northern Ireland for a competition called the ‘Super CUP’ and I was lucky enough to play against Rangers. I managed to hit one in the top corner as well as being the only player to score against them in the whole tournament (they won the tournament). That’d probably be my best goal.”
Best ground?
“I managed to play at the Madejski a few times, but in terms of non-league, easily Stag Meadow.”
And outside of WEFC, what do you do?
“I work in Freight-Forwarding, very complicated and wouldn’t want to bore the people reading this about what the job entails!!”
