Good evening all and a warm welcome to tonight’s visitors, Wallingford & Crowmarsh.
Wallingford have been on a fantastic run recently, having strengthened their squad, so we’re expecting a strong and competitive contest tonight.
Our squad have trained extremely well this week, and their dedication is really starting to show — particularly around the 70-minute mark, where we’re seeing the benefits of that hard work.
Last Saturday, it was brilliant to see us in control for large periods against Virginia Water. We created plenty of excellent chances, but our finishing left a bit to be desired. That said, against Whitchurch we were clinical and made the most of the opportunities we had.
Whitchurch was a fantastic performance from the whole group. From the management team putting in the homework and analysis off the pitch, to the lads executing the game plan — it was a really mature and professional display. Having visited their home game last Wednesday evening, we knew that it wouldn’t be an easy place to go, especially with that huge slope and their unbeaten home record this season, but the boys handled it superbly.
It was also brilliant to see such an amazing travelling turnout on Saturday. The support was outstanding, and it was great to hear just how much support we had there when Ben Catt and Izzy found the net. Thank you, as always, for your incredible backing home and away — it makes a real difference.
Let’s hope we can bring home the three points tonight.
