Match Report
Matt Angell’s side returned to league action after what has felt a very long ‘winter break’. Despite the heavy rain in the build up to the game, the Stag Meadow drainage system did its job and a crowd of 328 poured through the gates. Sadly, that’s where the good news finished as our unbeaten home run came to a disappointing end as our visitors secured a 3-2 victory. The game started well for the home side with striker Jemel Johnson converting a James Clark cross. However, the lead lasted barely six minutes before Kritpac Dzimba equalised for the visitors. We found ourselves 2-1 down five minutes later and the away side went into the break naturally delighted. Lennon Moore made it 3-1 minutes into the second half. Substitute Fiifi Carter pulled one back late on, but this was a dent in our title challenge. Thankfully news of Westwood’s defeat at home to Finchampstead means we still hold the advantage in the race for the title.
