Match Report
Heading into this game two points behind the league leaders and three games in hand, Matt Angell’s side were confident of taking over at the top. Sadly, that confidence didn’t last long as it took just 4 minutes for the home side’s Sam Poulter to put the hosts ahead. That lead was doubled 15 minutes later when Jamie Porter netted a second. In fairness to the lads, they didn’t give up and dusted themselves down, and Fiifi Carter pulled one back just before half time with a trademark free kick which gave the keeper little chance. Windsor fans hoped this would be a catalyst for the side to come out all guns blazing in the second half. In truth, neither side really town charge of the second half. As the game headed into injury time Westwood were reduced to 10 men after Matthew Evans was shown a red card for a late tackle. But hopes this would give us the edge going into injury time were short lived when a long ball forward saw George Armstrong come out of his goal only to be beaten to the ball and the home side scored a third and secured all 3 points. A disappointing, but fair result. Over to the lads to make amends next Saturday.
