Match Report
Matt Angell’s side fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Oxhey Jets on Tuesday evening. On a difficult pitch with long grass, the side found it difficult to move round the ball around with pace, something that was so effective in our game at the weekend. We went into the game without Sean McDonnell and Toby Bridges, and it’s fair to say both were heavily missed. The side started brightly, but were let down by final deliveries into the box. The home side took the lead in the 32nd minute when George Rice hit home at the far post and it wasn’t really against the run of play. We created enough opportunities throughout the game to probably come away with a draw, and a draw would probably have been a fair result, but we were let down by our finishing and in truth the home side’s keeper was rarely troubled with our misses either hitting the woodwork or clearing the crossbar. But, the squad will have learnt from the game and we move on to Saturday’s home game against PFC Victoria.
