Match Report
Matt Angell’s side returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 5-1 win away at Henley Town on Saturday. After days of heavy rain a lot of credit must go to Henley’s ground staff for getting the game on. The game itself was certainly one of two halves. In the first half we didn’t quite get our rhythm going and when Charlie Douglas headed the home side ahead in the 21st minute it wasn’t entirely against the run of play. Ash Howes pulled us level on the stroke of half time, when he headed home from a Ben King cross and that goal gave us the impetus heading into the second half. And that impetus bore fruit in the 56th minutes when Howes put us ahead with his second goal of the game. Substitute Fiifi Carter put the game to bed in the 88th minute when he added a third. And that goal triggered a 4th and 5th as Jemel Johnson struck an excellent goal from distance and Oli Bach stepped up to make it 5 from the penalty spot after Fiifi Carter was upended. All in all, a good victory that lifted us back up to second place in the table.
