FC Deportivo Galicia vs Windsor & Eton

Match Report

Matt Angell’s side made it 19 wins on the spin with a hard working and dominant performance at bottom of the table Deportivo Galicia.

It was the home side who had the first chance of the match and fortunately for Windsor, Galicia’s centre forward was unable to convert when clean through one on one with Conaill Ryan. Chances came and went for Tom Hennah who dragged his effort wide of the far post, Sean McDonnell was guilty of blazing wide from 6 yards and Ollie Graham had a fine effort well saved by the home keeper. It wasn’t until late on in the first half that an excellent cross from Tom Hennah was met by the head of Pawel Kowalkowski, his effort nestling in the bottom corner of Galicia’s net to give the Royalist’s a half time lead.

There were no signs of complacency and chances fell to Ollie Graham and Sean McDonnell to extend the lead before an excellent curling free kick from Mo Davies gave the Royalists a 2-0 lead. That quickly became 3-0 when Oli Bach powered home from 18 yards. Bach then had a chance to extend the lead from the spot, his penalty well saved by the home goal keeper.

The home side troubled Conaill Ryan in the 80th minute, an effort well saved just below the bar. Pawel Kowalkowski put the icing on the cake, tapping home from 2 yards after excellent work by substitute Izzy Kelly.

An excellent result and the run continues…
