Didcot Town U18s vs Windsor & Eton U18s

Match Report

To be honest, I thought our performance was a massive improvement on the last two weeks. I’m not gonna say I’m not disappointed we didn’t get the result we wanted, but this game seemed like a growth point for us as a group. The performance was good and showed huge qualities we knew the squad had but weren’t showing. Don’t get me wrong, the opposition was superb, a full time academy with many more contact hours than we have as a group so that has made me even prouder to be part of this group. A few mistakes cost us the game but we’re in a development stage where we want to get mistakes out the way and build on and learn from them to bring success to the side.

The boys leadership qualities throughout the game was superb to drive through this sort of game with our current injury circumstances was phenomenal. They all backed themselves to get something out of the game. Again, this is another growth point for us as a group and I’m hoping that this is a springboard for us to drive forward for the rest of the season… especially with the number of home games we have coming up.

We now look forward to a trip to our friends at Binfield next Thursday night where we will look to build on this impressive performance.
