It was great to grab some time with a new face to Stag Meadow this season, Tahir Carmichael.
Tahir is very quickly becoming a fans favourite with his solid performances at left full back. But is that Tahir’s best position?
“I believe my best position is fullback, I haven’t played there for a couple years though, but I am back playing there this year having played predominantly in midfield for the previous two seasons.”
Have you set yourself any target for the season?
“A personal target for this year is to contribute more goals and assists than I have previous years and to help in forward areas”
What are you good at and what do you want to be better at?
“The best part of my game (I believe) is my aggression and ability to win the ball back in 1v1 situations. On the flip side, I would like to improve on being able to take people on 1v1 and getting a better end product consistently.”
Who’s the first name on your WEFC teamsheet?
“That would have to be Sammy Hutch, his voice and dictating midfield. It feels quiet without him!”
Any footballing superstitions?
“Only one – every gameday is ice coffee in the morning.”
Do you support a pro-club?
“I support Liverpool and my favourite player(s) to watch would have been Torres or Suarez, not my game, but for me I would say I’m similar to Robertson…up and down all game.”
