Player Interview: Tom Hennah

20 October 2024,

Our first team player in profile this week is silky full back Tom Hennah. A new face to Windsor & Eton, but Tom has played at Stag Meadow previously?

“I previously played for Windsor FC a few years back when Coops was the manager. I then spent the past 2 years playing in America. When I returned, I knew what Coops had going on here and he put me in touch with Matt (Angell).”

Described as silky by some, what would you say your playing style is?

“I’d say my playing style is quite attacking for a full back! I like to get up the pitch & join the attack when I can. Equally, I love defending 1v1 down the channels. I’m not one of the loudest on the pitch but I like to try calm things down by keeping possession and looking after the ball.”

Who’s the best player you’ve played with so far?

“In England that would be a lad called Isaac Ogundere. I played with him for 3 or 4 years & he’s now a starter for AFC Wimbledon. The best technical player is a mate I met out in America from Germany. Luca played for Hoffenheim & the German Youth national team – he just makes the game look so easy.”

What’s the best piece of footballing advice you’ve had?

“It was from my dad when I was younger. Work on both feet and not just my left. I didn’t take it onboard too much but wish I did!”

And outside of WEFC, what do you do?

“I try and shoot a sub 90 round of golf and continue to fail!”
