We asked the coaches from all our youth sides to share their reflections on the 2025/26 season.
But let’s start with some member sof the commitee:
Paul Mitchell – Chairman
To all our players, who are the reason why we are all here, we just want to say well done to all of you, you’ve done us all proud. To our parents who stand in the wet and cold and run an unofficial chauffeur service on behalf of our beloved cherubs, again we would like to say thanks to you all. We sincerely appreciate all that you do. Our club would not operate with our managers and coaches, and I am sure you would all join me in saying we are sincerely grateful to you for your dedication, hard work and support in making our football club the success it is today.
To my co-chairman Mark it’s a pleasure working with you, well done mate, take a bow. To Matt (mens), George (Under 18s) Cathy (women)and Ryan and Joe (veterans) congratulations on your incredible seasons, and thanks for all your support to the youth throughout the season.
Martin Smith – Tournament Organiser
“The main tournament is looking really good this year with 168 external teams already signed up, which is currently 34 more teams than ever before. Let’s work together as coaches and volunteers to ensure it continues to be the best football tournament in the local area.”
Martin Smith – Girls Football Development Officer
“It’s great to see 4 teams, playing at U9, U10 and U12 level across 2 different leagues this season. We hope to grow Girls Football next season, so any budding Mary Earps, Millie Bright or Chloe Kelly’s in Windsor please contact the club.”
Caroline Leighton – Procurement Officer
“Hello everyone, Can’t believe another year has gone by! We have had some great football this season with great achievements. I would like to thank you all so much for your continued support with our club as we continue to grow and you guys make such a difference. Thank you for all your support with kit information and patience in receiving the kits. Here’s to another great year! Keep smiling Caroline xx”
Sophie King – Welfare Officer
“Since joining the club as one of the welfare officers this season, I have enjoyed getting to know coaches and their teams. It’s a great club to be a part of!”
Becky Wardell – Welfare Officer
“This is my first season as one of the Welfare Officers for the Club and I would like to personally say Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome and for all of your support. I have had the privilege of watching so many football matches throughout this time and it has been lovely to meet so many players, parents and coaches.”
Under 5 Fledglings
“The Under 5 Fledglings are thrilled with their first year, successfully introducing nearly 25 children to the joys of football. They’ve built strong friendships, improved communication, began to develop their technical skills and a love for the game. Watching them bond, learn, grow, and enjoy the game has been amazing. We eagerly look forward to the upcoming season and many more exciting years ahead with the squad.”
Under 6 Fledglings
“This season has been all about developing 28 very young and enthusiastic kids to ensure they are ‘ready to play’ in leagues next season. We have seen massive growth in both the registered players and qualified coaches, working closely with the U5 coaching team to implement a structure that will supply the club with a minimum of two new U7 teams every season. We can’t wait to get playing matches so the kids can put what they have learnt into practice!”
Under 7 Eages
“Congratulations to our U7s Eagles who have won their League Vase Final. In a hard fought game at Arbour Park the side secured the trophy.”
Under 8 Jays Blues
“In our first full season, It’s been a great season for the under 8’s Jays blues who pushed up 2 divisions this year to league 4. Despite only competing for half a season last year it was fairly evident that the team should be playing in a higher level, the first few games were tough but the boys played some exceptional football. Despite some early setbacks the boys found their rhythm and started to produce some great results with opposition coaches complimenting how well the team pass the ball around the pitch. The team were exceptional in the trophy event and have qualified for the cup final on the 3rd May, hopefully one last epic performances and the boys can emulate the men, women’s and veterans by bringing home some silverware….cue one step beyond!!! Overall it’s been a great season, a slow start but after 21 games we won 12 drawing 3 and losing 6. Well done Jays Blues!”
Under 8 Jays Reds
“Our newly formed team this season, U8 Jays Reds, got to the trophy final (unfortunately we had to sacrifice our place as half the team are away on a rugby tournament that weekend so we couldn’t field a team). But a great achievement for the boys nonetheless as we only started the team in September!”
Under 9 Doves Whites
“Another successful season for growth and development. The girls game is growing massively and we are so happy to see more and more girls join us and give it a go. We’ve had players coming down as a result of seeing our successes from last season and wanting to be part of it. On average we have about 18 girls at training now, even through the winter when I am sure the parents wished their daughters did an inside sport! Our big achievements for the 2024/2025 is reaching the League Cup Final, beating some really tough opposition! Our other achievement is seeing the development of a second team, it is amazing to have 2 girls teams at U9 level! “
Under 10 Buzzards Reds
“The Buzzards Reds have continued their development throughout the season and have a positive attitude in training and always keen to learn new skills. The have been rewarded for their skill, hard work, and determination with a place in the Cup Final, following a very tense semi-final where they scored an equaliser with the last kick of the game before going on to win the penalty shootout.”
Under 10 Buzzards Gold
“The Golds team have been together for about 2 seasons now. They are a fantastic group who are always smiling win, lose or draw. It has been fantastic to see how much progress they have made in terms of confidence, self belief and footballing ability. Off the pitch, they have also forged some great friendships from being in this team so well done Golds!! Keep up the good work!”
Under 10 Buzzards Green
“Continuous improvement being made for a team where most are only playing their 2nd ever season of football, Well done boys!”
Under 10 Wrens
“The Wrens Reds have had a brilliant season finishing the season with an unbeaten run in the league that stretches back to November. In the cup they’ve gone one better this year and progressed through to the final. Fingers crossed for the big day!”
Under 11 Kestrels Blacks
“For the Kestrels Blacks, coached by Laura Joe and Neil, we merged two u10s teams last season and figured we’d need a season or so to acclimatise. Actually, we have gone from strength to strength. The team gelled wonderfully, we moved up a division at Xmas & expect to go up again at the end of the season!”
Under 11 Kestrels Blues
“A fantastic first season in EBFA Div 2. We welcomed 4 new players into the squad and after a shaky start losing our first 2 matches the team bonded well and started to play some great football and went on an 8 match unbeaten run . Finished the season having played 20 games in Total with 13 wins, 3 draws and only 4 losses – a great performance in a challenging league. The team have worked hard, developed brilliantly and formed into a great young team. Looking forward to next season already!’
Under 12 Kites Gold
“The Kites Golds have had an excellent season. With a largely new squad assembled last summer, the team has performed exceptionally well in Division 3 of the East Berks League. Although we narrowly missed out on securing the league title and exited at the semi-final stage of the East Berks League Cup, I am extremely proud of the players and their commitment throughout the campaign. We are in a strong position as we look ahead to the 2025/26 season.”
Under 12 Kites Reds
“Windsor & Eton FC U12 – Red Kites play in Division 1 of the East Berkshire Football Alliance. The highlight of this season is reaching the County Cup Final.”
Under 12 Kites Whites
“We continue to pride ourselves on being a team of mixed ability, that provides equal opportunities to all of our young players, some of whom are still in development, some rediscovering their form, and some beginning to blossom from years of hard work and commitment. A highlight was seeing one of our best players moving on to a higher level with the district girls team.”
Under 12 Kites Blues
“Blue Kites U12 are on the brink of winning division 7 after getting promoted from division 8 last year. It’s not confirmed yet but we are guaranteed second and it’s such a great achievement!!”
Under 12 Swans Whites
“Windsor & Eton FC U12 Girls – White Swans play in Division 2 of the Surrey County Women’s and Girl’s League. Newley promoted at the start of the season, the girls have played well against some talented teams this year. Developing very well against stronger competition.”
Under 12 Swans Black
“Regarding the U12 BLACK SWANS, we are a newly formed team this season, our focus has been on fostering a positive and supportive environment where the players can develop their skills and learn to work effectively as a unit. We are incredibly proud of the significant progress each player has made individually and collectively. Their enthusiasm and commitment have been truly inspiring, and we are looking forward to seeing their continued growth in future seasons.”
Under 13 Ravens Gold
“This season for the Windsor Ravens Gold’s was their first season playing 11 aside football, aka a steep learning curve! Not only were they stepping up to a bigger pitch, with bigger goals, new formations and more players they were also having to do so against stronger opposition having been promoted to Division 2. It was a very humbling start, losing the first 2 games 8-0 and 9-1, but the team really knuckled down in training and didn’t let these early results effect them. This led to them taking significant strides in their development culminating in a winning run of 7 games and even avenging one of those early heavy defeats winning 4-1. The coaches could not be prouder of the Ravens Gold’s, with the resilience they have shown and growth they have made in developing as a team. Bring on next season!”
Under 13 Ravens Blacks
“The Ravens Blacks have grown into a cohesive and dynamic team, playing fantastic football that has earned the respect of other teams and coaches. While results haven’t always reflected their performance, their style of play and determination have been truly impressive.”
Under 13 Ravens Greens
“After a very successful campaign last season we saw ourselves placed in Division 1 competing against high quality opposition. A significant challenge for our players and one that they embraced all season with admirable determination and resilience even in the most difficult of circumstances. Never shying away from the challenge throughout games. A special group of players that have all done themselves proud this season. Well done!”
Under 14 Falcons Blues
“A solid first season playing in Division One of the Wycombe & South Bucks League. No finals or silverware like previous seasons but probably the most rewarding in terms of development and watching the boys step up and challenge themselves week in week out. Well done lads and thanks for all your efforts, Kev & Gary”
Under 14 Falcons Blacks
“Great season for the Falcons Blacks fighting amongst the top spots, including a memorable 2-0 win at Stag Meadow against title chasing Caversham.”
Under 14 Falcons Whites
“We are having a fantastic season with the hope of winning our division. The boys have been brilliant all season, some games to go.”
Under 14 Falcons Greens
“Falcons Green u14 have made a vast improvement from starting in division 6 and finishing 2nd in division 5 last season to jumping up to division 3 and holding our own against some pretty decent teams.”
Under 14 Falcons Gold
“The Golds were moved up from Division 8 last season to Division 6. We had a slow start to the season and sat in 11th before the Christmas break. But this second half of the season they have pushed on and currently sitting 3rd in the Table pushing for a top 4 finish in the remaining 2 games. And as their manager I am incredibly proud of their efforts this season.”
Under 15 Ospreys Titans
“The U15 Ospreys TITANS had a very competitive season in the EBFA Div 3 this season”
Under 15 Ospreys Raiders
“After struggling for couple of seasons with player numbers in the Raiders and the Warriors, we decided to combine the two teams so going into this season was essentially a new team and it couldn’t have gone better. The boys integrated really well with each other and we got off to an amazing start. We’ve spent the whole season in the top three with two games to go top spot (5 points) is probably out of reach but second (3 points and 2 games in hand) is definitely achievable. Myself and Josh couldn’t be happier with the team’s commitment and efforts this year and are very proud of the boys.”
Under 15 Ospreys Rebels
“The Team was promoted to Division 4 this season and whilst we have had our challenges, we couldn’t be prouder of our players who have shown resilience, perseverance, determination, commitment and teamwork.”
Under 15 Ospreys United
“WEFC Ospreys United Under 15s are at time of writing enjoying a remarkable season, with a battle for the title which is going to the wire. This talented squad is underpinned by exceptional teamwork and skill, which is matched with a strong work ethic and excellent tactical awareness. We have been fortunate to work closely with George and the Under 18s squad, helping to develop a clear and robust pathway for our more talented players to progress through the system, which should provide a blueprint for all our local aspiring footballers.”
Under 17 Swifts Reds
“Enjoyed the opportunity to play at Stag Meadow, sun was shining vs Marlow, we took an early lead through stunning left foot volley, were on course for a win although a late comeback from Marlow saw it finish 3-3, great experience all round.”
Under 18 Merlins
“It has been an honour and privilege to coach the U18s for the last two seasons. Though it hasn’t been our best season, the lads have been fantastic, working hard as a team to improve and giving their all for each other, as well as showcasing some great football. I gave the lads the option to pick what league they wanted to play in at the start of the season, they could of took the easy option which would of been staying in the same division and possibly going on to winning it, but giving them the credit they deserve, they decided they wanted to push themselves and move up a division. In all honesty they weren’t out of they depth, results may not show this, but we were playing the better football in most of our games, which was mention by a number of coaches and referees all saying the same thing that we should have won that game, but this is football and unfortunately not everything goes your way. Sadly this is their last season with Windsor & Eton FC Youth due to there not being an U21 or U23 team yet, I wish all the lads the best in the future, weather they continue to play or not. This is something they will always remember and hopefully will put a smile on their faces when they are grey and old.”
