Player Interview: Ethan Kitching

10 August 2024,

A new face at Stag Meadow this season is defender Ethan Kitching. Ethan has joined us from Reading YMCA, having played against us last season! Here’s an introduction to Ethan who kindly stopped for a chat.

Where should we expect to see you playing?

“Right back is my preferred position and where I play best. Playing at full back allows me to go forward, but also play my defensive role as well. My best attribute as a footballer is my desire to win and my determination!

Ideally, I would like to improve on going forward, be more creative, create more attacking opportunities and to improve on my final ball into the box.”

We saw you last season, where was that?

“I was at Reading YMCA last season, and I played against Windsor & Eton many times. I was able to see what WEFC were all about. I haven’t played under Matt Angel before, but I am looking forward to this season because he is a great Manager. The coaches and staff are fantastic as well and I am looking forward to this season with all their support.”

What do you do away from Windsor & Eton?

“Outside of football I am at BCA College and I study sports and exercise science. Alongside my college course I play football with Maidenhead United for the u19’s. They play in the u19’s National League. I have a part time job as a lifeguard, and I work at several different leisure centres around Reading.”

Do you have a favourite ground you’ve played at?

“My favourite ground to play at was the Select Car Leasing stadium which I played a cup final at. But the best ground I’ve played at is the Emirates Stadium – I would love to play in again because it was a great experience.”
