A new face at Stag Meadow this season is that of Adam Crocker. Adam has made an immediate impact and has an impressive goal to game ratio! Adam very kindly spared us a few minutes of his time.
Where have you played previously, and have you played under Matt before?
“I have played at Maidenhead United, Hartley Wintney, Eversley & California (under Matty) and at Penn and Tyler’s Green last season.”
How would you describe your playing style?
“My playing style has changed over the last couple of years. I enjoy being in possession, who doesn’t? I find good space and make direct runs, but I think I’m strongest with the ball at my feet. I will take players on, pick out a pass and even score a goal. I will always have an intense high press because I want to win the ball back and I love to attack. However, don’t ask Webby what he thinks about my ability out of possession.”
What’s your ambition?
“Firstly, my ambition is to just enjoy playing! Without that, in my eyes, nothing can be achieved whether that is personal or club targets. However, my ambition whilst playing for Windsor and Eton is to win the league and play at Wembley in the FA Vase.”
Have you set any personal targets this season?
“I suffered a bad injury at the beginning of this year, and therefore my first target is to be in the starting 11 on a more regular basis. My other target is to score 20+ goals in all competitions this season.”
Best goal you’ve ever scored?
“Probably when I was 16 on trial with Leeds United. We played Luton Town, and I scored a volley from outside the box top corner to complete my hattrick. We won 3-2.”
Best piece of footballing advice you’ve ever been given?
“To make sure you enjoy playing. You play your best football when you have a smile on your face, and you play with confidence.”
Something you’d like to be better at?
“In terms of footballing ability, I want to be better out of possession, that would be tracking players, tackling, being more organised. However outside of football I’d like to be better at being more dedicated. I would like to go to the gym and train more religiously as I want to make sure I’m the fittest that I can be when playing.”
What do you do outside of football?
“I’m studying Furniture Design at the University in High Wycombe”
