Matt Angell has announced his first signing of the close season with the capture of Holyport captain Luke Appleton.
Luke is well known to WEFC fans after spending a number of years here at Stag Meadow playing for Windsor FC. A talented centre half, Luke has played the last two seasons in the successful Holyport side who finished just outside of the play-off places last season. His experience at this level will be invaluable in the coming season.
Manager Matt Angell commented: “Luke is someone I have tried to sign since I came in 2 years ago as he is a leader on and off the pitch! He will bring a lot of quality to the side and knows how to commit at the higher end of the league. I’m looking forward to working with him and seeing him develop as he’s still of a young age.”
Luke added: “I’m really excited for this season. It just feels right coming back to Stag Meadow. After keeping an eye on how well the club has progressed and performed over the last 2 seasons I’m over the moon that I have been given the opportunity to get involved in something special and I can’t wait to be back on that pitch!”
Welcome back to Stag Meadow Luke!
