Ben has received an offer that was too good to turn down from a club based 5 minutes from where he lives.
Ben was part of our journey from the very beginning back at step 7 and will be sadly missed by everyone at club – our secretary aside for having to deal with all those yellow cards! 117 games – we wish him all the best and he will always be a big part of our history.
Thanks Ben, and best wishes for the future. You’ll always be welcome back!
Another player moving on is Juwon Akintunde.
Juwon joined us in the second half of last season and was always a handful up front – Many will remember that goal away at Virginia Water!
The third player leaving us is Aiden Payne-James. Anyone who watched Aiden last season will have seen his development game by game on the left wing. The important thing now for Aiden’s continued development is regular game time.
We also want to wish all the best to Leo Decabo who is moving on.
Leo made 34 appearances last season, scoring 14 goals, including some of the most incredible goals you’ll see direct from corner kicks.
And finally, Bakai Manneh will be leaving us as he and his family relocate to Birmingham.
Baks, thank you for the last two seasons, whilst work commitments restricted games at times, a huge impact.
As Baks shared with Webby “It’s a shame I’ve had to leave and move from Reading to Birmingham, because if I’d stayed local I honestly would’ve carried on working with you and the team. But family has to come first.”
