Match Report
Our very first FA Vase game certainly didn’t disappoint. On a day that started with a lot of rain soon became a sun baked Stag Meadow, and it was fair to say the side were certainly up for the occasion. Despite a shaky opening few minutes, the Matt Angell’s men quickly settled against their step 5 opponents and began to dominate possession. That said, the visitors always looked lively on the counter attack. But it was the second half where the home side’s dominance found its reward. Just 6 minutes after half time Pawel Kowallkowski riffled home an excellent opening goal. In the 75th minute the visitors were really up against it when Jake Humphrey received his marching orders and James Williams found himself in the 10 minute sin-bin for dissent. The home side took full advantage when substitute Oli Bach received the ball out on the left, cut inside and gave the visiting keeper no chance as he doubled the lead. Pawel scored an injury time third to wrap up the afternoon and the Royalists put themselves in the hat for the next round. In truth, it should have been more, but for the excellence of the visitors’ keeper. It was a fully deserved victory for the home side and the winning run continues.
