Match Report
Our participation in this season’s Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup came to an end with a disappointing 2-1 defeat away at Reading YMCA. It was a story of two halves for Matt Angell’s men. A goal from Sam Knight, who headed home from a corner in the 36th minute, gave us a 1-0 lead heading into the break. But a poor second half performance saw the home side, who were clearly up for this cup tie, secure a well-deserved victory. In the 70th minute Joel Burton levelled for the home side and 8 minutes Pele Hagger scored what was to become the winning goal and secure the home side a place in the semi-finals. It’s now two cups exited in recent weeks, so all efforts will now be ploughed in to lifting the league title at the end of the season.
