Our title hopes took a major dent with this point away at Reading YMCA. In what was another tough game against our hosts, we took a welcome lead in the 17th minute when Rayden Shurviff tapped home from close range. The strong winds meant playing good football was always going to be difficult for either side, but both sides deserved credit for trying to keep the ball down. Matt Angell’s side would have been confident going into the half time break knowing they then had the strong winds behind them in the second half, but in truth, despite a lot of possession we never really tested their keeper. And it was no real surprise when in the 59th minute Jake Ibbotson blasted home an equaliser. A late flurry of corners gave the away side a bit of hope but in truth, a draw was probably a fair result.
