Bedfont vs Windsor & Eton

Match Report

We maintained our position at the top of the table with an excellent win over a tough and well-organised Bedfont side on Tuesday evening. Ahead of the game, it was great to see former goalkeeper George Armstrong, and he received a warm welcome from the visiting support. Looking to build on Saturday’s excellent win at Langley, it took just 11 minutes for the momentum to continue. Strong work and desire by Oli Bach ultimately saw his cross turned in by Ash Howes at the far post to put us 1-0 up. While we enjoyed a lot of possession, George was rarely tested in the home side’s goal, testament to the organisation of Bedfont. The lead was doubled however in the 45th minute with an early season goal of the season contender. Oli Bach (again) with a cross that Sean McDonnell volleyed home first time from 12 yards out.  We upped the momentum further in the second half and enjoyed a lot of joy, particularly down the right hand side. That said, we weren’t able to add to our goal tally. But, it was an excellent away performance and a well deserved three points, which maintains our position at the top going in to the bank holiday weekend fixtures.
