Match Report
Windsor & Eton marched into the next round of the Berks & Bucks Charles Twelftree Trophy with a 4-1 win over Kennington Athletic at Stag Meadow. In front of another strong crowd, the first half was a story of missed chances for both sides. Windsor paid for those missed chances when Josh Nicholls put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute, but midfielder Jude Van Spall levelled things up a minute before the break. It would have been harsh for Matt Angell’s side to go in one down at the break, but the side would have been disappointed with the opportunities missed. Whatever the management team said at half-time it certainly worked, as Windsor came out in the second half with a fierce determination. That determination was rewarded as early as the 49th minute, when skipper Ben Catt was brought down in the area, and Fiifi Carter made no mistake from the spot-kick. Fiifi made it 3-1 in the 67th minute following a mistake by the visitors’ keeper. And James Clark wrapped things up in injury time when he slipped the ball under the keeper for our fourth and final goal of the afternoon.
