Match Report
Oh where to start with this one! Firstly a fantastic crowd of 321 came through the turnstiles to watch Matt Angell’s side put in a fine performance and a 7-1 win, which perhaps should have been even more. The home side started the game with real intent and so it was little surprise when in the 13th minute Jamie Griggs turned the ball in to the back of the net to give us an early lead. Oli Bach continued his recent fine form by doubling the lead 7 minutes later. In truth we probably should have been 4 up at the break but settled for the two. If the visitors thought an early second half goal could get them back into the game, Ash Howes dashed those hopes just 4 minutes into the second half when he headed in Pawel Kowallkowski’s cross. 3 quickly became 4 when Oli Bach was brought down in the area and he rifled the spot kick home for his second and the home side’s fourth 10 minutes later. By this stage the home side were dominating possession and Ash Howes capped off a fine performance for him when he grabbed his second in the 66th minute. Pawel got into the act and a deserved spot on the scorers list when he headed home from a corner in the 70th minute to make it 6-0. And then came the goal of the game when Tom Hennah rifled home from outside of the box to give the keeper no chance in the 78th minute. A late goal from the visitors’ Lewis Slade didn’t dampen proceedings, but that late goal did mean this wasn’t to be a record scoreline! The win however does mean we are 7 points clear at the top of the table.
