Windsor & Eton's first team returned to pre-season action with a comfortable 3-0 win away at Binfield.

A David Pearce strike early in the first half and late strikes from Ashley James and Lee Bell were too much for the Hellenic Premier Division side.

The Royalists should have been ahead in the first minute but Martin Williams' header was easily taken by the keeper.

But, with just 2 minutes on the clock they did take the lead when Williams flicked the ball on allowing Pearce to nip in and shoot past the keeper.

Several chances followed with the most notable falling to Justin Clayton who's effort was tipped over the bar.

Binfield weren't without the odd chance with their best coming from a free kick that was turned away by Tom McNeill.

Windsor should have doubled their lead just before half time when Williams again flicked the ball on, this time for Ryan Bernard, who lifted the ball over the keeper only for the ball to be cleared.

The second half started well for the hosts with an early chance coming back of the post.

A succession of changes on both sides yielded no more chances until the closing minutes.

Ashley James picked the ball up wide on the right hand side and was allowed to carry the ball into the area before shooting past the keeper.

The result was confirmed in injury time when James slid the ball through to Lee Bell who made easy work of his finish.
