Comp: Great Western Suburban League

Windsor & Eton continued to make stead progress in the Zamaretto Premier Division with a 0-0 draw away at Oxford City.

Both sides had good chances to to take all the points in the match and it was Windsor that carved out the best of the first half.

Chris Owens free kick was swung to the far post where Justin Clayton managed to turn the ball onto the crossbar.

Oxford pushed Windsor all the way in the first half but they failed to find a way through being limited to long range efforts and speculative half chances.

The second half was more of the same and should have seen the hosts take the lead just after the hour mark.

Oxford broke away after a failed Windsor corner and when Billy Beechers cross found the head of Liam Malone, Delroy Preddie somehow scooped the ball out from under the bar.

Preddie was then on hand to keep out Harry Harding's effort from the edge of the area, tipping the ball round the post.

Windsor thought they had taken the lead late in the half when Michael Chennells raced through to lift the ball over Richard Knight only for the assistant referee to flag for a handball.

Windsor came very close once again when Fiston Manuella crossed allowing Chennells to lay the ball off for Shane Hill who's effort was somehow tipped onto the bar by Knight.
