| MC HAMMER ROCKS BLUEBELLS |
Top form striker Michael 'MC Hammer' Chennells added another goal to his already impressive tally in Windsor & Eton's 2-0 win away at Yate Town.It took Chennells just 10 minutes to get on the scoresheet when he was quickest to react when Josh Dempsey pushed away Gavin Smiths effort. Yate came very close to pulling level just minutes later when the ball got stuck under the feet of Steve Butler allowing Mark Reynolds to turn and shot but was denied by Rob Bullivant. Chennells should have added a second when Jake Parsons crossed from the right but the normally sure footed striker turned the ball wide of the post. Reynolds then hit the bar for Yate when he got on the end of Jason Burt's cross before coming off after just half an hour with a hamstring injury. Windsor put in a strong finish to the half with Both Chennells and Gavin Smith coming very close to extending the lead. The start of the second half saw Adam Dickens replace youth team product Matt Mooney and he soon played a part in Windsor's second goal. Zayne Simpson only managed to head Dickens corner as far as the edge of the box where it was met by the boot of Jake Parsons sending the ball shooting past Dempsey and into the net. Windsor thought that they had added a third when Chennells managed to beat Dempsey to the ball but instead the referee gave a foul against Chennells, much to everyone's amazement, including the Yate bench. Windsor finished strongly again with chances for Smi9th and right at the death Chennells went clean through but was unable to get the ball past Dempsey. |
